Recent passage of anti-gay laws in Russia
The FCI General Committee and FCU Staff are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Georgiy Grigorovich Onishchenko, former President of the Ukrainian Kennel Union (UKU), on 4 November 2025.
Ukrainian cynology has lost one of its most dedicated and visionary leaders. Mr. Onishchenko was among those rare individuals whose profound commitment and tireless work spoke louder than words. He was admired for his professionalism, integrity, and deep understanding of the canine world—a true mentor, advisor, and friend to many.
Through his leadership, Ukrainian cynology reached new heights, gaining international recognition and uniting countless professionals who share a passion for dogs. His influence shaped the future of the field, leaving an enduring legacy that continues to inspire generations.
Mr. Onishchenko’s voice carried wisdom, his vision anticipated progress, and his actions brought people together.
In loving memory of Georgiy Grigorovich Onishchenko, whose contribution will forever remain in the hearts of the Ukrainian and international cynological community.
Our thoughts and prayers go to his family and all who mourn his loss.
Y. De Clercq
FCI Executive Director
