The FCI World Championship had 4 sections: Area search, rubble search, tracking and Top. The most difficult one is the Top section because the registered teams need to be in all rescue sections.

The official opening of the Championship was held in the Old City Centre of Craiova (not on a stadium as on previous editions), an event attended by over 2000 people. It was a night show, with lights and music, and 22 vintage and collection motorcycles accompanied all the teams. To the official opening there attended the members of the F.C.I. Rescue Dogs Commission, the six judges, local officials, country? officials, representatives of the Internal Affairs Ministry and E.U. representatives on disaster and humanitarian issues.
